So many things get in the way of our really listening: our own priorities, needs, anxieties etc. This interactive day is concerned with improving our skills when listening to ourselves, and to others, and perhaps also to God.

Alexander Technique Wednesday 8th February10am-2pm

It seems that busy-ness, more than anything else, is the ‘dis-ease’ that separates us not only from ourselves, but also from each other.  A.T. can enable people to achieve a greater sense of relaxation and wellbeing, it can facilitate the art of meditation and living more gently and mindfully within ourselves and in the world.

Living with Hope Saturday 18th February 11am-4pm

Looking at the different understandings of the place of hope in our lives – and how it differs from and is more central than clarity or knowledge or certainty.

Exploring our hopes in such a way as to enable the power of hope to have a greater effect in our living in response to the good news of the Gospel.

Sadhana: A Way to God Tuesdays 21st February-3rd April 6.30-7.45pm

Seven week course being guided through a series of prayer exercises taken from Anthony de Mello SJ book ‘Sadhana – A Way to God’.

Beginning with developing stillness and awareness, we then move onto the use of our imagination and into opening our lives more fully to the love of God.

Bereavement and Loss Thursdays 23rd February-8th March 11am-1pm

Three week course both informative and experiential designed to help people both understand and manage their personal griefs better, and as a result increase their sensitivity towards others. The sessions will include: attachment and loss; different types of loss; the process of grieving; the grief journey.

N.B. This is not a therapeutic course for those recently bereaved.

Lent Retreat in Daily Life Saturday 25th February-Saturday 31st March

An opportunity to meet one to one with a prayer guide once a week for the five weeks of Lent at a time that suits you morning, afternoon or evening. It is essential to register for this retreat.

Lent: Journey to Easter Mondays 27th February-26th March 7-8.30pm

Lent is one of the richest seasons of the Church’s liturgical year, a time of intense preparation for those wishing to be received into the Church at Easter and a time for all of us to reflect on and prepare to renew our own baptismal promises. This series of talks reflects on some of the key themes of the season of Lent
